Year 4

Presenting Myself

Our first unit in Year 4 is all about how we can introduce ourselves in Spanish.  We enjoy learning how to describe how we are feeling, as well as saying our name, age and where we come from.  We also secure our counting skills up to 20.  During this first half-term, we also enjoy discovering more about the history and culture of Spain by celebrating National Spanish Day.

My Family

Our second unit of study in Year 4 is all about our family.  We learn the nouns for different members of our extended family as well as how to introduce different members of our family to other people.

Habitats

In this unit, Year 4 learn how to talk about different habitats across the globe, such as deserts and tropical rainforests.  They also learn the names of different plants and animals that dwell in in these habitats.

At the Cafe

This unit helps children develop the language skills in order to be able to order a range of popular food and drink items from a cafe.  Year 4 enjoy taking an active approach to learning their Spanish vocabulary with games such as 'Corners' and 'Word Races'.
