Within our 'Playgrounds' DT unit, we learn how to design a product effectively, allowing us to follow a plan to make an effective product. We use measuring, sawing and gluing skills to create our playgrounds, using a range of materials.

While making waistcoats, we recap different sewing techniques and decide which ones we need to make the edges of our waistcoats strong and secure, whilst ensuring we keep them neat and tidy. We also learn the importance of measuring accurately, so we can ensure the final product fits perfectly.

In this DT topic, we are tasked with designing a multi-purpose, GPS device aimed at hikers and outdoor explorers.  We have to design the product, including all the different features required from the brief, and then create this as a 3D model using Tinkercad software.
