Year 3

Egyptian Scrolls

In Year 3 we get the opportunity to make a modern day version of papyrus paper. We use our understanding of ancient techniques to construct a new material. Once we have looked at Egyptian art work we also create a design to put onto our papyrus paper.

Prehistoric Art

In this unit we look at the process involved in creating prehistoric art. We use charcoal to recreate the style of cave artists and make handprints in a range of colours.

Drawing

Year 3 learn about the different drawing tools which can be used and look at how we can add texture to a drawing. We learn that tone in art means light and dark.

Queen Elizabeth II

In art we created some Queen Elizabeth II collages in memory of HRH.

Vincent Van Gogh Drawings

Year 3 explore a variety of patterns and marks in the style of Vincent can Gogh, before looking at one of his most famous pictures ‘ The Starry Night’ and having a go at recreating it themselves.

We created our own Christmas cards using pastels
