In Year 3 we learn all about emailing. We start by looking at the different methods of communication before composing our own emails safely. 

In Year 3 we learn the very important skill of typing. We learn the correct posture we should use when sitting at a keyboard and learn new typing terminology. We look at the different keys on a keyboard including home, top and bottom row keys. 

Year 3 took part in a number of activities focused around being safe when using the internet. The children were very engaged and discussed well what they need to do if they face a problem. We took part in a live BBC teach lesson, discussed information we should and shouldn’t share online as well as looking at a range of scenarios. We also complete a Purple Mash online safety unit of work to embed this. 

Children will learn what a flowchart is and how flowcharts are used in computer programming.  Children learn how to code to create a range of programs including how to run, test and debug their programs.
