In Year 3, we have the opportunity to write a defeating the monster tale. We begin by exploring a range of defeating the monster stories and looking at what makes a good one. 

Year 3 love the challenge of following a set of instructions to create their own chocolate apple. This is the start of our literacy unit on instructions. 

Year 3 begin to look at warning stories and explore the structure of our model text ‘Kassim and the dragon’ before writing our own warning tale.
