Year 3

Diwali - Would celebrating Diwali at home and in the community bring a feeling of belonging to a Hindu child?

Year 3 enjoy discovering how Hindus celebrate Diwali by planning a Diwali party to help a Hindu child feel welcome in our community of Aspatria.  Students develop their crafting skills by making rangoli decorations for the celebration.

Christmas - Has Christmas lost its true meaning?

Year 3 develop their discussion and reasoning skills by exploring whether or not Christmas has lost its Christian meaning.  They reflect on how their families celebrate Christmas in relation to other families.  

Christianity - Could Jesus heal people?

In our RE lessons, Year 3 enjoy exploring miracle stories through drama.  They also reflect on whether or not they believe miracles can be explained in a rational way.
