Year 4

Being Me in the World

In Year 4 we explore what it takes to make a happy and successful school community.  We think about how democracy works through exploring the role our School Council has in representing the voice of our pupils.

UK Parliament Week

Each year in Autumn term two, we look at the role UK Parliament plays in shaping our democracy.  Pupils learn about how laws are passed, what happens in the Houses of Parliament and the role each individual plays in shaping our democracy.

Celebrating Difference

In this unit, Year 4 explore first impressions and why these can sometimes be wrong.  Pupils also get to celebrate the personality and physical characteristics that made them unique.  Children discuss body image and how the media can alter images of how a person really looks.

Dreams and Goals

In this unit Year 4 focus on making new plans and setting short and long term goals.  They discuss the importance of overcoming disappointments and learning how to be resilient.
