Wake & Shake

This year I have introduced Wake & Shake, which all children from Reception - Year 6 take part in. The infants do this in class each morning before phonics and the juniors take part in a whole school session in the hall at 8:50 before the registers are taken. This enables the children to get rid of any morning jitters and be fully focused and ready to learn as well as keeping fit and active. We use GoNoodle for our sessions.

Year 5 & 6 netball tournament

7 Year 5&6 children were chosen to participate in a High5 netball tournament at Workington Leisure Centre. The children were brilliant at playing, time keeping and scoring  as well as helping to referee the 6 minute games.

Tag rugby festival

Today we took part in a tag rugby festival organised by Beacon Hill School. We took teams from Year 3 - 6 down to Aspatria Rugby Club to take part in the event. Although the event was non competitive, all of our teams played fairly and showed real determination, winning most of their games.

Netball club

Miss Watson and Miss Irving have been running an after school netball club this half term. They have practiced different passes, learned about the different positions and also learned how to pivot, so that the children use the correct foot work. They have had lots of fun and this has also been a good opportunity to practice for this years netball completions.
