Our Values

We act as positive role models, actively teaching the children the eight embedded school values (respect, kindness, happiness, friendship, safety, support, confidence, honesty) and how we can live by these. Our values are woven throughout everything we do. Nurture is at the heart of the school, enabling children to take risks, problem solve and to become independent learners. As part of this, physical and mental well-being is paramount and we believe that a good education promotes health and happiness as well as achieving academically . Our curriculum prepares our pupil’s for their next stage in education and also develops children's understanding of diversity as they to gain a deeper understanding of the world in which we live.  Children are encouraged to talk about their feelings and reflect upon how their actions affect themselves and those around them.

School Council Fundraising:  Children in Need 2023

Richmond Hill School Council help to promote many of our school values through the charity work they do.  This year's Children in Need saw them organise different fundraising events including: The Great Welly Wang, Guess Pudsey's Birthday and Blushes' Lucky Lollies.  School Councillors demonstrate confidence through the organisation and management of these events.  They also aim to spread happiness and kindness in our school community as pupils at Richmond Hill really enjoy getting involved in all the events.  The money our school raises helps to support projects for disadvantaged children in the UK.

Children in Need Car Wash

Our Early Years Foundation Stage unit hosted their very own car wash, as part of the fundraising they have done for Children in Need 2023. As well as showing our school value support, the children displayed values such as kindness, safety, happiness and confidence throughout the activity!

Early Years Well-Being Week 2023

Our Early Years Foundation Stage have enjoyed taking part in Early Years Well-Being Week. Founded by Kate Moxley, the purpose of the week is to raise mental health awareness and increase mental health literacy. At Richmond Hill we believe improving and maintaining the health and well-being of staff and children is of the upmost importance. Over the course of the week all of our Early Years children and staff have taken part in a range activities, which was then finished with a spa day at the end of the week!

First Aid Day 2023

At Richmond Hill, we prioritise keeping our children as safe as possible. We endeavour to encourage all our children to understand not only how to keep themselves safe, but other children in the school as well. To support this, we hosted a 'First Aid Day' where all classes from year one up to year six took part in a first aid session, where they learnt about how to deal with potential emergency situations safely and effectively.
