Combining Elements to Make Music

In this unit Year 4  explore three songs based on the theme of connecting us with our past:  'Looking in the Mirror'; 'Take Time in Life' and 'Scarborough Fair'.  Pupils enjoy learning to sing, play and explore the musical style of each song.  

Developing Pulse and Groove Through Music

In this unit, Year 4 look at a disco song, a traditional American folk song and a fast waltz in 3/4 time.  Pupils enjoy learning to sing the songs, as well as having the opportunity to play sections of the songs on glockenspiels.  

Creating Simple Melodies Together

In this unit, Year 4 explore what music teaches us about the communities we live in.  Children have the opportunity to listen, respond and perform a diverse range of music including, 'Let Your Spirit Fly', 'Symphony No 5' and 'Frere Jacques'.
