National Poetry Day
To Celebrate national poetry day Year 1 started by discussing the word ‘refuge’ and it’s meaning. We then went outside for a walk and used our 5 senses to think about the outdoors. We then listened to the poem called Nature Trail by Benjamin Zephaniah. It was a poem all about insects in a garden. We then thought about our own ‘safe place’ and the children drew a picture and had a go at writing their very own poems. Fantastic effort Year 1
