Inspirations and Aspirations
We want our pupils to produce work of the highest quality which they will then take pride in. We want pupils to believe they can overcome barriers to their learning and that anything is possible. We want pupils to take inspiration from a broad range of cultures, people and achievements and be encouraged to unlock their own potential. We want to expose our pupils to a wide spectrum of possibilities and prepare them for the wider world. We want to develop resilience in our pupils and give them the tools to recover from set back. We want pupils to know that gender, race, background, disability or religion should never stop your interest in a career path or aspiration.
William Hare
Year 5 had a visit from William Hare LTD. They spoke to us about apprenticeship opportunities. They set us a challenge to see who could build a bridge the fastest. Well done to Seth, Layla, Taylor, Niall and Mason for creating the quickest bridge.
Pedal and Scoot 2025
The children in Reception were lucky to have 'Pedal and Scoot' in this week to help teach the children to ride their bikes without stabilisers. We are SO proud of our children’s effort and determination. Only 1 out of 16 children could initially ride their bike without stabilisers and after just a few hours practice, 13 can now ride without stabilisers!! This is amazing and we are so so proud.
British Science Week 2025
The theme for British Science Week 2025 was 'Change and Adapt.' Throughout the week our children took part in a range of different experiments, activities, lessons and competitions focused on the theme. Through taking part in British Science Week, we inspire our students, enhance their understanding of Science and STEM and enable them to develop crucial skills for the future!
Receptions Chinese New Year party
Reception had a lovely afternoon celebrating Chinese New Year. We began by cleaning our classroom, as Chinese people believe a clean house will bring good luck. We then put on our party hats and played some games. We played pin the tail on the dragon, we filled bowls with Pom Poms using chopsticks, we played musical statues to some traditional Chinese music and we all tried and tasted some home-made Chinese food. We finished off by watching the Chinese new year countdown and each child gave a friend a lucky red envelope containing a chocolate golden coin.
Dreams and Goals: Year 4 Future Careers Event
As part of our PSHE curriculum on helping our pupils aspire to exciting careers in the future, we were visited by Bill Millar from Altrad Babcock. He talked to Year 4 pupils about jobs they could do in the future which they might never have even known about. During the session, pupils were set Lego challenges to help they develop employability skills such as teamwork, resilience, communication and determination.
Make Your Dreams Come True Day 2024
Our Early Years Foundation Stage children have loved celebrating make your dreams come true day! The children came to school dressed as something they aspire to be when they grow up and they all looked fantastic! They spent the day exploring different career stations such as the doctors, dentist, builders yard and salon!
INSPIRATIONS & ASPIRATIONS
Our theme for World Book Day this year was ‘Inspirations and Aspirations.’ We used the Little People, Big Dreams books to inspire our costumes and spark conversation around the amazing people featured in the books.
Wheelchair Basketball
We want our children to aspire to be whatever they desire in life, and to overcome any barriers they may face along the way. Each year, all junior classes participate in a wheelchair basketball session, where they learn not only valuable skills about the sport itself, but also how any body can be successful and reach their goals and dreams, and how success may look different for each individual.
Make Your Dreams Come True Day 2023
Our Early Years children enjoyed celebrating 'make your dreams come true day 2023.' The children came into school dressed as what they dream of being when they grow up. We had so many amazing aspirations, including doctors, firefighters and zookeepers. Our Early Years parents/guardians also sent in hopes and dreams messages for their children, which have been displayed in the Early Years classrooms!
